Cadet Summer Camps

Where to start....Summer camps take the Cadets all over Canada.  Cadets can choose courses such as sailing, drill & ceremonial, seamanship, band, fitness, and even range instructor.  This is by no means a complete list, but gives you a bit of an idea of the wide range of options.  Camps start at a two week stint, then there is three week camps, and then usually go to a six week camp.  After cadets have filled the requirements for a staff position, they can apply for a staffing position at one of the summer camps.  Staff positions are not only six to eight weeks long, but provide a lot of leadership and life skills to the cadets that are so important in life.  Did I forget to mention, all summer camp cadets GET PAID to go to camp, yes even the two week camps.
So cadets is free to join, and if you go away on summer camp, you get paid to go and have a summer full of fun, what is stopping you from joining?!?!

Exchanges

An exchange is where the cadets get the opportunity to go all over the WORLD.  Yes you read that right.  I have seen cadets go to places like Australia, Bermuda, Sweden, and even on an ice breaker into Nunavut.  The exchanges are few and not all cadets get to go, but the ones with the best reviews and several camps get the opportunity to apply and the lucky ones get to go.  140 Cayuga has been lucky enough to send several cadets over the years on these exchanges.
